Institut Montana Zugerberg
The school opened its doors in 1926 in the building of the former Grand Hotel Schonfels, located at an altitude of 1000 m above sea level between Zurich and Lucerne, a 45-minute drive from Zurich.
The founder of the school, Dr. Max Husman, defined the main principles of its educational activities: the individual development of each child, creating conditions for successful interaction between children of different cultures and nationalities, raising educated young people in the spirit of respect for elders.
The school believes that a student who does not like going to school cannot be successful, so the school staff provides children with interesting lessons and a fun, useful time. National holidays of children of different nationalities who study at school are celebrated by the whole school as one big family, and for good behavior and excellent grades, children are rewarded with movie tickets and trips to a pizzeria.
The key point in training – This is the preparation of children for adult life, their socialization. Graduates of the school build successful careers in business, science, and art. - At school, children are taught to eat rationally, eat correctly and beautifully, and are taught good manners.

Equipment
For sports, there is a modernly equipped sports complex, which includes a gym, an athletic stadium, beach volleyball courts, a football field, 4 tennis courts, an ice skating rink, and a basketball court. The indoor swimming pool is located a short walk from the school. There is an 18-hole golf course nearby.
Program
The school offers a wide selection of academic programs, which allows the educational institution to accept the maximum number of students. Teaching is conducted in English, German, Italian. The study of each specific subject ends with an exam. Classes are held in small classes. Foreign students are accepted into the school from 10 to 19 years of age.
Academic programs offered by the school:
- British program: IGCSE - a program for obtaining a certificate of general secondary education. The program perfectly prepares for further study, for example, in the IB program.
- Swiss Maturitat: training in German or English, Swiss gymnasium, Swiss Matura program (grades 7 - 12). There is a possibility of bilingualfull-time training – in English and German (provided to students enrolled in the Swiss Matura program).
- International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB): studying in English, International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) (grades 11 - 12).
The school year at the school is divided into 3 terms, the holidays last 3 weeks (Christmas and Easter) and 9 weeks (summer), there is also an additional week of rest in the fall, in October. During the holidays the school is closed. During the weekend, various excursions to theaters, museums, and performances are organized for schoolchildren.
Students who cannot cope with the program are helped. Weekly hours of additional classes have been created for them, at which students must attend without fail if the teacher deems it necessary.
After graduation, students who have received a diploma from the appropriate academic program have the opportunity to enter the best universities in Switzerland, the USA, Canada, and the UK. In this they are helped by a school consultant, who, together with the student, chooses a university and provides all the necessary support in collecting documents and obtaining a place. The school is proud of its university consultant: he finds a place at the university for all students without exception, even those whose level of knowledge leaves much to be desired.
Accommodation
Children live in the school building in cozy rooms for 1-2 people. The rooms have sinks, 2 in each. Facilities are located on the floor, but close to the room and meet the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Sport
School students take part in football, basketball and volleyball competitions, and often go to the swimming pool or 18-hole golf club, located near the school. In winter, children skate at the school skating rink. The presence of small lifts allows children to ski or sled right on the school grounds. Students are often taken to famous resorts in Switzerland, where they practice winter sports.
Additional activities
The school has clubs and studios: theater, singing, dancing, photography, fine arts. During the weekend, various excursions to theaters, museums, and performances are organized for schoolchildren. The school's theater studio takes part in various festivals and competitions.
Cultural trips and excursions are organized to Zurich, Lucerne, Zug. Students attend theatrical performances, concerts, and exhibitions.
