Montana Summer Sessions

Age: 10-15 years old.

Dates: July 14-27, 2024.

Montana Summer School takes place at the Institut Montana International Boarding School. The school is located near the city of Zug, at the foot of the Alps between Zurich and Lucerne, less than an hour from Zurich Airport.

The school's campus is located at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level, in safety, complete privacy and harmony with nature. Children will spend an unforgettable summer and bring home a vivid impression of their stay in Switzerland.

Summer school is an opportunity to improve your knowledge of the language, try new exciting activities and, of course, make friends. Children will be able to develop their sports and creative abilities, as well as experience the spirit of real adventure.

Learn: learn and significantly improve German, English or French.

Grow: gain experience in academic and extracurricular activities by choosing what brings the most joy.

Moving: A healthy lifestyle is one of the school's priorities. Children will participate in sports and discover new sports.

Meet: get to know Switzerland by visiting fascinating excursions. This is an opportunity to make friends from all over the world, learn more about other cultures and bring home unforgettable memories.

KEY FACTORS

EQUIPMENT

The campus is located on 60 acres of land in a picturesque area. On the territory of the school there are 4 buildings in which there are rooms for living, classrooms and offices. There is also a gym, fitness rooms, a football field, 4 tennis courts, a beach volleyball and basketball court.

PROGRAM

In the morning, language lessons are held. You can learn English or German. Before the start of classes, all children write a test, according to the results of which they are divided into groups in accordance with the age and level of knowledge of the language.

In the afternoon, children go in for sports and attend classes based on their interests.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

Residence in double rooms. Each room has a bed, a desk, shelves, an office chair and a small refrigerator.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea are served in the large school cafeteria. Students, teachers and mentors come together here. The dining room hosts many evening events, board games and shows. This is the most “social” place in the whole school!

Nutrition in the school is given great attention. All food is freshly prepared, mostly from local ingredients. Individual wishes on the menu are considered (for example, if the child is allergic).

SPORT

Sports classes are held in the afternoons and are required to visit. Sports training is designed to improve interaction in the group, increase confidence in each other and contribute to team building. And finally, sport is simply necessary for the formation of a healthy lifestyle. Sports activities include: dancing of various styles, climbing, orienteering, tennis, team sports with the ball, fencing, chess, rowing on the board.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

In the afternoon, children choose their occupation according to their interests:

Business and entrepreneurship. Develop your own business idea and participate in launching your business in a game format.

Science and technology. Get the experience of various chemical experiments or build your own robot. The program includes: training in programming skills, the study of photography, robotics, the study of weather and climate, experiments with energy.

Creativity and art. The program includes classes that develop creativity and imagination: the art of magic tricks, making cupcakes, pottery, fashion and textiles, architecture and design, music and much more.

People, places and stories. Program for children 10-13 years old. Have you ever wondered where and how the dinosaurs lived? Or how did Columbus discover America? The program includes archaeological quests, exploration of space and the study of history.

Research skills. Program for children 14-15 years old. Learn tips and tricks that come in handy in life. The program includes the following topics: time management, creative brainstorming, problem solving games, note taking, presentations, essay writing.

ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS

Every evening there is an entertainment program: barbecue evenings, team games, competitions and comedy evenings.

On weekends, fascinating tours of Switzerland take place: a tour of Zurich, a visit to the Swiss Science Centre "Technorama", a visit to the Swiss Museum of Transport and the Rhine Falls.
