La Garrenne School, founded in 1947, is located in Chesières-Villars, on the southern wooded slope of the mountain range, near Montreux, at an altitude of 1250 m above sea level.

Once Villard, merged with neighbouring Chesières, was just a resort (the local air and the sun are considered healing). Now it is a tourist centre offering a wide range of sports activities, including glacier skiing year-round. In addition, there are several prestigious Swiss schools, including La Garenne, with its summer school well-known far beyond Switzerland, which established a three-generation summer camp.

The summer camp will appeal to all students aged 5 to 14 years who want to study English and French, go on excursions and devote their time to sports.

EQUIPMENT

The school consists of a main building and new comfortable houses - traditional alpine chalets. La Garrenne is a boarding school in which children of preschool and primary school age from many countries of the world live and study. In summer, the same international team of children comes here to relax and improve their knowledge of a foreign language.

PROGRAM

A program for children who want to intensively study English or French. In a short time, children of all levels, from elementary to advanced, will study grammar and vocabulary, practice reading, writing, speaking and listening.

In order to improve the conditions for learning, children are divided into groups according to the level, from elementary to advanced. Their needs and expectations are considered. Classes are small, so children receive individual attention, which encourages them to make great efforts and be more ambitious. Pair and group work develop the ability to communicate in a foreign language.

Lessons are held in a modern purpose-built Academy building, equipped with the latest technology. Classes are held from 9:00 to 12:15 from Monday to Saturday. The lessons are taught by dynamic and experienced teachers, all of them are regular employees of the school.

Teachers use a practical multi-sensory approach to learning through games, music, art and crafts, storytelling, role-playing games, dressing up, cooking and quizzes. All this helps to make classes diverse and interesting. New topics are introduced every few days, for example, "The World Around Us," "Going Shopping," "Poems and Stories from Around the World," "Workouts," "Hobbies."

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

Accommodation in a residence. In 2016, a new building was opened, built using the most modern technologies and offering accommodation at the highest level. The residence has common rooms, a multifunctional room for relaxation, theatre performances, exams and celebrations.

Meals in the school cafeteria. Breakfast - bread, cereals, croissants, tea, hot and cold chocolate, fruit juice. Lunch - meat, fish, vegetables, salads, pizza, fresh fruits, ice cream. Dinner - soup, pasta, hot and cold snacks, yogurts, fresh fruits, homemade cakes.

Paragliding (13-17 years old). Flight over the mountains and the famous Lake Geneva with a professional instructor.

Parachute jump in tandem (13-17 years old). A unique experience for adrenaline lovers. Admire the views from above the Rhone Valley
