Brentwood College School is a coeducational private boarding school. It was founded in 1923. School is located on the ocean coast, not far from Victoria (British Columbia, Canada). Victoria International Airport is 1 hour away by car.

The school prides itself on its prime location along the oceanfront with 1 km of coastline. The campus covers an area of ​​47 acres. Education at the school lasts 4 years (grades 9 to 12) and is focused on entering the university. The school is more like a small college than a traditional boarding school.

The goal of the school is to create a safe and caring educational environment that will help the student acquire the necessary knowledge for further learning.

Brentwood College School has about 430 students. 20% are foreign students.

FACILITIES

The Brentwood College School campus occupies 47 acres of land and is located along the oceanfront. The school has 8 residences for students. Large bright dining room with 350 seats. A modern scientific center, auditoriums with interactive whiteboards, a large library, 6 scientific laboratories, a lecture hall with 75 seats.

The school has an Arts and Humanities Center, which houses 8 classrooms, studios for painting, sculpture, ceramics and photography, computer classrooms for design and multimedia technology classes, an art gallery with 25-meter-high ceilings, where exhibitions of works are held students. There is a medical center.

Sports facilities: 8 tennis courts, sports grounds, basketball court, modern sports complex with gymnasiums and squash courts. The school has good conditions for water sports: it has its own boat house, an indoor pool for rowing.

PROGRAM

The school program is focused on subsequent admission to the university.

Advanced Placement (AP)

The program is recognized by universities in the USA and Canada. Offers subject studies and exams at the university level. In the framework of AP, high school students study major subjects according to the university program, for admission to which they prepare and, based on the results of the study, take exams. Thus, a student under the program has the opportunity, even before enrolling in a university, to pass the material of the first two semesters, work out study credits by discipline, pass exams and receive grades that will be taken into account when enrolling in a university and further education.

Students select several subjects from the proposed areas for advanced study. At the end of the Advanced Placement program, a written exam is taken in each of the subjects studied. Exams take the form of tests that are graded on a five-point scale, where 5 is the highest and 1 is the lowest.

ACCOMMODATION

The school has 8 residences (4 for boys and 4 for girls), which can accommodate from 24 to 56 students. All houses are recently renovated. Students live up to 4 people per room. Each room has a bed, a table, a chair, a wardrobe and personal belongings. Special mentors live here who look after the students.

Each house has a kitchen, TV and a common room where students can gather in the evenings and in their free time. There is WI-FI on the territory of the residences. Each residence has its own unique character and traditions that unite students and make them proud of their place of residence.

SPORT

Physical form, special team spirit and sportsmanship are highly valued at the school. Pupils enjoy participating in various sports activities. Endurance, flexibility and self-confidence are developed through team and individual sports. High school students can choose to specialize in any kind of sport and engage in greater intensity.

The school offers 24 sports for different levels of training: from beginners to advanced. Basketball, cross country running, field hockey, ice hockey, golf, swimming and rescue, rowing, rugby, kayaking, skiing and snowboarding, football, squash, tennis, volleyball, strength training.

ADDITIONAL CLASSES

In addition to study and sports, Brentwood College School pays significant attention to creative development.

At school, you can learn to play almost any musical instrument. Pupils annually take an active part in local and national festivals, bringing silver and gold medals to the school. You can also practice vocals, sing in a choir, or play in a group.

The school offers a unique dance program for students of all skill levels. There are professional teachers who aim to develop the technical excellence of their wards and teach the artistic performance of the dance.

Students can play in the theater and take part in school plays. This is a great opportunity to discover your capabilities, gain confidence, overcome fears and learn how to speak in public.

The school pays great attention to art classes. They help you express yourself, visualize your own ideas, develop patience and self-confidence. Students' works are exhibited in the school gallery. You can learn to draw, paint, ceramics, sculpture, photography, 3D animation, graphic design.

In their free time, each student can practice their favorite hobby. There are many hobby clubs in the school: a chess club, a debate club, a United Nations model, a modern foreign language club, a photo club, a science club, stock market analysis, school yearbook publication, environmental club and much more.
