Westonbirt School
Boarding School Westonbirt School was founded in 1928. It is located in the quiet and safe city of Tetbury near the historic city of Bath, a 1.5-hour drive from London Heathrow Airport. The main school building is an old Victorian mansion surrounded by a magnificent park.

EQUIPMENT

You can get a BTEC qualification in the following specialties: business science, digital media, performing arts, travel and tourism, horse riding.
ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD
Accommodation in a residence on the school grounds. Younger students live in rooms of several people. High school students live in a separate house in single rooms, which gives them more independence and personal responsibility. Each student has his own bedroom with a bed, desk, wardrobe and bookshelf. Children have at their disposal common lounges, a training centre, a dining room, a private kitchen, a washing machine, a bar and a yoga room.
SPORT
The school is known for the excellent preparation of athletes who perform at the highest level individually and as a team. The main competitive sports of the school are lacrosse, netball, swimming, tennis, athletics and cricket. The school boasts an impressive equestrian team. Throughout the year, competitions are held against other local schools, and children compete locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

- Wine and Food Course (Leith’s Certificate in Food and Wine). Westonbirt is one of the few UK schools to offer such a course. It includes training in the preparation of various dishes and the use of professional equipment, the development of the ability to understand wine.
- The course "Young Entrepreneurs", which studies the creation and conduct of business. Children learn to take responsibility and can be elected to responsible positions: company director, specialist in the field of finance, personnel management, marketing, sales. - The Warriors course, where high school students have the opportunity to fly to South Africa to learn survival and self-defence skills. The program includes activities such as: night navigation in the bushes, parachuting, launching, interaction with rhinos, cheetahs and reptiles. Everyone gets the opportunity to work in an orphanage. The program provides children with an exceptional opportunity to develop important qualities that will serve them in the future.
In addition, students can take part in a book club, film club, do yoga and Zumba, attend self-defence classes, take a series of master classes on building a future career, and learn how to manage finances.
Music is an important part of school life. More than two-thirds of students play one or more musical instruments. Lessons include performing arts, composing, musical assessment. Various genres are being studied: from baroque and classics to musical theatre, reggae and popular music. Composer work is done using Sibelius and GarageBand software in the school music department.
Concerts are held regularly at the school itself, but many musicians and singers often perform at local concerts outside the school. Singing in Gloucester Cathedral is a prestigious annual event in which all vocalists participate. And the Mid-Somerset and Cheltenham festivals offer performers the opportunity to compete with students from other schools.
