  • College students always excel at exams.
  • Recent graduates have entered Harvard, Oxford and Imperial College London; they study fashion in Milan, finance and hotel management in Canada.

EQUIPMENT

In 2017, the construction of a new residential building for high school students was completed; its value was 6 million pounds. The new building has separate rooms with private bathrooms for each student. Despite the modern design, the new building organically complements the existing college residences.

The theatre is equipped with lighting and sound equipment according to a professional standard and is designed for 300 people. Built 15 years ago, the theatre is a place where older children can learn the technical aspects of the theatre and also perform on stage.

The school has a 20-meter indoor pool, tennis courts, large playgrounds.

PROGRAM

GCSE

A two-year program for obtaining a certificate of general secondary education. Required to study 6 subjects, 4 subjects are studied by choice.

A-level

A two-year university preparatory program. Students choose 4 or 5 subjects for in-depth study.

The school offers a wide range of subjects (21 subjects) that are studied at the GCSE and A-Level levels, including BTEC certificates and the globally recognized Extended Project Qualification (a fairly large-scale project, independently executed by the student).

There is a special course “English as an Additional Language” (EAL) for children aged 9-12 years. Students receive excellent language training in a small group so that all subjects can be studied. They actively participate in the life of the school: games, musical and theatrical productions, and, of course, communicate with their peers.

The college also offers a one-year A-level preparation program for foreign students (ages 15-17) Pre-A-level. This is a great option for those who want to take A-level exams in the UK and improve their English while preparing for the exam. Students of the program take an active part in the life of the school and are preparing for successful studies in the 12th and 13th grades.

ACCOMMODATION

Wycliffe is famous for its residential homes, some of which have saunas, underfloor heating and, of course, Wi-Fi. All houses are friendly and quickly become a second home for students. Home competitions, relaxing with friends in the evenings, warmth, comfort and safety are the hallmarks of Wycliffe

The house for the girls of the preparatory school is Windrush House, very cosy, with colours, accessories and furniture selected for girls. Comfortable living room with satellite TV, DVD player, board games and computers. In addition, there is a cosy kitchen with toast and hot chocolate!

Pennwood House, a pre-school boys’ home, is a purpose-built home that also boasts a large number of rooms and great facilities for boys, including a common room, computer room and games room. Friendly games are held on a regular basis, which allows each student to have fun and at the same time realize their potential.

In high school there are 8 houses for students aged 13 to 18 years. Every home has mentors who help children. Each house has its own individuality and style, some of them are small common rooms for living, and some are single rooms, some houses are designed for 13-18 years, and some are only for Sixth Form students (16-18 years).

Each house is located on the territory of the main school, which means that lessons, extra classes and all sports facilities are within 5 minutes’ walk. In the evenings, the campus is well lit and safe for all students.

SPORT

The sports department at Wycliffe allows students to improve their physical fitness through regular physical education classes, games, and extracurricular activities. Students in all sports and activities are encouraged to reveal their true potential.

Wycliffe College is one of the most promising squash schools in the UK. After graduation, many graduates continue to play for their country.

A number of team sports have an excellent list of matches for boys (rugby, football and cricket) and girls (hockey, netball, tennis and puck). Pupils and college teams regularly win regional and international competitions.

The college is considered one of the best in the region in terms of sports facilities and the qualifications of trainers.

Students can practice fencing, rowing, shooting, rugby, hockey, soccer, netball, basketball, tennis and equestrian sports.

Additional classes

Those guys who prefer the stage also have many opportunities to demonstrate their talents: they can sing in a choir, play in an orchestra, jazz or string ensemble, and also participate in productions of a youth theatre. Theatre lessons and performances are held at the preparatory school.

Music is also part of the daily life of the school. All children sing in assemblies and participate in the weekly practice of hymns. Each year, the departments of Music and Drama come together to organize several productions.

Other events throughout the year include a Halloween disco, Oktoberfest, Chinese New Year celebration and Valentine's Ball.

For students under 12 years of age, active events of the following plan are held once a semester: cycling / visiting caves / orienteering / climbing / walking / canoeing. This program is designed to improve students' ability to build and form a team, culminating in a week spent in Wales (for students 12 years old).

Delicious smells come from the kitchen courtesy of Grow and Cook. Pupils cook: bread, cookies, pancakes and pastries, and some 8th grade students cook lunch for the whole school.

High school students, ages 13 to 18, can participate in the Cadet Corps (CCF). Students learn to cook, set up camps, use navigation skills, and also acquire team building and coaching skills.

High school students can also take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Prize. The award is awarded at the levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold.
