Why did we decide to send our only daughter Sonya to study in the UK at the age of 12? Because we dreamed that she would start learning with pleasure. Unfortunately, this was not the case in Norilsk. And we also want her to grow up as an independent, self-confident woman. We will always help, but it will be great if she learns to manage her life herself.
Sonya was worried: how could she be able to join British students and cope because with language barrier. Therefore, on the advice of Paradise, at the age of 13, we sent her for 1 term to Bishopstrow, a special college for preparing foreigners for school- boarding house. Sonya instantly joined the process: a small school for 60 people, all foreigners, in the same boat. We rarely heard from her: phones were given out for 1 hour a day! She answered that “everything is fine” with her.
The most striking impression from Bishopstrow is how calm and open Sonia arrived. The child's emotional state was pleasantly surprised.
She is now studying in Scotland at Strathallan School. We took her there, and just fell in love with this beautiful land!
Sophia is doing well. She has got lot of impressions; I recently talked to her for about half an hour. She participates in a musical group and she was chosen as a soloist! The child who has never participated in such events! We always thought she was an athlete; however, she not only plays field hockey, she is engaged in many things, and in their free time they go with the girls to eat blackberries in the forest. Her grades are also pleasing!
