The British boarding school Sedbergh School was founded in 1525. Located in the small vibrant city of Sedbergh between the two most visited national parks in Europe - Lake District and Yorkshire Valley. The journey to London takes just over three hours by train. From Liverpool or Manchester Airport, you can get to school in an hour and a half.

PROGRAM

GCSE

The program for obtaining a certificate of general secondary education. Required to study 6 subjects, 4 subjects are studied by choice.

A-level

A two-year university preparatory program. Students choose 4 or 5 subjects for in-depth study.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation in a residence. There are 9 houses in the school: 6 for boys and 3 for girls. Each house has its own library, common lounge, computer room, kitchen and dining room. Each house has its own colour, flag and emblem, children feel themselves as part of a large friendly community. It develops a sense of belonging, team spirit and self-confidence. The school has its own medical centre.

SPORT

Sedbergh has an international reputation for its sporting achievements. The school has the motto "Sport for all!". Any student, regardless of their initial abilities, can begin to engage in any sport and achieve impressive results. School teams represent Sedbergh at national and international competitions.

Sports for boys: rugby, sailing, shooting, hockey, running, cricket are the main sports at school. You can also practice squash, badminton, mountain biking, swimming, athletics, tennis, golf, soccer and horse riding.

Sports for girls: hockey, netball, running, athletics, tennis - the main sports. You can also do aerobics, badminton, ballet, climbing, running, dancing, fencing, horse riding, sailing, shooting, football.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

At school, the imagination and personality of the student are highly valued, so great importance is given to the arts. The music and theatrical art are especially strong.

Music plays a key role in this philosophy. All students are involved in music classes. In addition to large concerts, many small shows with children are held throughout the year. On Saturdays, students perform at a school concert either as part of various ensembles, or as solo performers. During the academic year, master classes and performances by invited international musicians take place. The school regularly holds competitions among young talents. Individual lessons with a teacher are possible.

The school considers theatre art much more than just staging performances. This is an opportunity for students to change their perception of themselves and their abilities, learn how to work with different groups of people. Everyone can feel like the creator of the theatre. Children take part in the production of stage performances and radio performances, participate in master classes, and go on theatre tours.
