Rugby School was founded in 1567 and is located in the eponymous town in Warwickshire. Rugby School is one of the oldest and most famous schools in England. In 1750, she moved to an old building with a large territory, beautiful gardens, playing fields, which the school occupies to this day.

The convenient location of the school in the heart of England allows easy access to the famous Warwick Castle, as well as to Cambridge and Oxford. It takes 50 minutes by train to London.

Rugby School went down in world history as the site of the invention of the sports rugby game. In 1823, a local boy first ran with the ball and invented the incredibly popular game that later became.

EQUIPMENT

The school's sports equipment is one of the best in the UK. 13 rugby fields, 2 hockey fields, 3 artificial tennis courts, 7 netball courts with lighting. Chic cricket equipment. The school has a large gym, pool, squash courts, gymnasium, golf course.

The music school was significantly expanded and updated in 2011. It has impressive equipment: 40 rooms for training and rehearsals, a recording studio, rooms for lectures and seminars, a small concert hall and a large assembly hall for performances with 800 seats with 2 high-quality pianos and a historical organ of the 19th century. There are several grand pianos at the school, including Bosendorfer and three Steinways, a full range of percussion instruments and a number of orchestral instruments. PROGRAM

GCSE

The program for obtaining a certificate of general secondary education. Required to study 6 subjects, 4 subjects are studied by choice.

A-level

A two-year university preparatory program. Students choose 4 or 5 subjects for in-depth study.

IB (International Baccalaureate)

The International Baccalaureate program, recognized by universities around the world. 6 subjects are studied: 3 at the advanced level and 3 at the standard level. In addition, students write an extended essay, take the course "Theory of Knowledge" (practical philosophy) and the CAS course ("Creativity, activity and mutual assistance").

ACCOMMODATION

Living in a residence on the school grounds in one of 16 houses. Each house has its own atmosphere, but each has a cosy and comfortable setting "at home away from home".

SPORT

Sports activities are divided into "main" and "secondary" sports. The main ones are rugby, football, hockey, cricket, tennis, athletics, netball and hockey.

In addition, a wide selection of other sports is offered: badminton, basketball, shooting, running, fencing, golf, polo, rackets, rifle shooting, sailing, squash, swimming and triathlon. The school also offers a calmer sports program that you can to do for pleasure and relaxation: aerobics, dancing, volleyball, ballet, gymnastics, horse riding, tai-chi.

Highly qualified trainers teach at the school, many students achieve impressive results, perform at international competitions. Among the graduates of the school there are many who have become professional athletes in rugby, cricket and hockey.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

The music department of the school offers an energetic and stimulating environment for playing music. Pupils get opportunities to realize their potential. Classes are available for students of different levels of training: from beginners to advanced. Music at school includes vocal and instrumental training, singing, chamber music, orchestral training, singing in a choir, jazz and rock music, musical theatre, composition and musical technology. Over 600 music classes take place every week. Children can learn to play the piano, organ, guitar, harp, bagpipes. Master classes are regularly held with invited music professionals. Competitions and competitions among young school musicians are held throughout the year.

During the year, the school hosts 2 large productions: a musical and a play. Each student can take part in the production in the role that is being done for him: actor, singer, orchestra member, illuminator, director, sound engineer, costume designer, make-up artist, costume designer, choreographer. In addition to large productions, small performances with the participation of children often take place.

The Department of Art and Design helps children learn the language of visual communication and learn how to work with media technologies. Interactive seminars and master classes by invited experts, as well as creative trips to exhibitions and galleries are regularly held.
