Queenswood School

Queens Wood School is a private boarding school for girls, was founded in 1894. The school is one of the ten most prestigious private schools for girls in the UK. Located in the small town of Hatfield, Hertfordshire, a 30-minute drive from Heathrow International Airport and central London.

The school is proud of its famous graduates, including the daughter of the famous British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

About 430 girls attend school. 20% of students are from other countries.

EQUIPMENT

Queenswood School is located on 48.5 hectares of land in a very picturesque area. The school has modern classrooms with interactive whiteboards and multimedia equipment, an excellent library, and an art room. Gorgeous sports equipment: indoor 25-meter heated pool, aerobics room, dance studio, gym, playing fields, 27 tennis courts. The school has its own theatre with 280 seats with professional light and sound, which makes it possible to arrange performances with the participation of students.

PROGRAM

GCSE

Program for obtaining a certificate of secondary education (General Certificate of Secondary Education). Mandatory subjects include 7 subjects. 3 subjects are optional.

A-level

A pre-university two-year program aimed at preparing and passing exams in a number of disciplines and obtaining a certificate of "advanced" level Advanced Level General Certificate of Education.

In the first year of study (AS-level), 4-5 subjects are studied, in the second year of study - 3-4 subjects.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation in a residence. Younger girls live by several people in a room. Older girls live in single rooms. Each house has a small kitchen where you can prepare snacks and drinks, a relaxation room with a TV and DVD. In each house, a mentor lives with the girls, who provides the necessary assistance and support.

SPORT

The school has created excellent conditions for sports activities, which are held at a very high level. Some students represent the school at local and national sporting events. You can go swimming, fencing, aerobics, gymnastics, table tennis, badminton, cross-country running, horse riding. The Tennis Association recommends Queenswood School to those who plan to continue to play tennis professionally.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

Much attention is paid to music classes at the school. More than half of the students learn to play a musical instrument, and some even two. You can sing in a choir or take part in one of the many school music ensembles. Often held music competitions. Also at a serious professional level, dancing is taught at the school.
