Mill Hill School was founded in 1807. The school is located in a very beautiful, green and safe suburb of London, in a magnificent park area of ​​48 hectares. Located in the most prestigious part of London – north London, where huge mansions are lined up. You can get to London by tube, car or bus. To central London – 30 minutes. Heathrow Airport is 40 minutes away by car.

Mission of the school – excellent education, development of self-discipline and responsibility, formation of spiritual and moral values. The school has about 785 students, 65 on a full board, 39 live in a boarding house 5 days a week.

The program at Mill Hill International is designed for international students who want to improve their English while studying a traditional academic curriculum.

The school welcomes children from all over the world to gain internationally recognized qualifications and transformative educational and cultural experiences.

Although Mill Hill International students are taught separately from Mill Hill Main School students, there is a strong emphasis on integration. Mill Hill International students are full members of the boarding school: they live in the same boarding houses as students of the main school, eat in the same dining room, are fully integrated into extracurricular and sports life, and can engage in individual and team sports under the auspices of the school.

Equipment

The 48-hectare school campus has all the conditions for active sports: a huge, superbly equipped sports centerp, indoor heated swimming pool, hard tennis courts, netball courts, sports fields for rugby, hockey, cricket and football. The school has a design and technology center, a 250-seat theater, a recording studio, auditoriums for rehearsals and music classes, studios for painting, ceramics, sculpture, batik and printmaking. Students have over 120 personal computers and a brand new library at their disposal.  The guesthouse rooms have WI-FI. 

Program

Mill Hill International offers 3 academic courses. Most students complete at least one year of study, but may stay for 1 or 2 semesters.

9th grade

9th grade — this is the last year of three academic years, which in the UK is called Key Stage 3. The curriculum allows you to study the widest possible range of subjects and begin preparation for the GCSE course. Key subjects: English, mathematics, natural sciences (biology, chemistry and physics, taught as separate subjects).
Additional subjects: Art and Design, Computer Science, Design and Technology (DT), Theatre, Geography and History, English as an Additional Language (EAL) for pupils who require additional language support, Physical Education, Spanish.

Two-year GCSE course

Preparation for studying in the last two grades of a British school under the A Level program. Pupils study mathematics, English and one science subject as the core curriculum. They also choose five additional subjects from the following list: art and design, biology, business studies, chemistry, computer science, design and technology (DT), economics, English literature, geography, history, physical education, physics, psychology, Spanish.

Children with a low level of English who need additional intensive language training study less than 5 subjects. Instead, they study English.

One-year GCSE course

An intensive program that combines two years of GCSE study into one year. The program is suitable for those students who transferred to the UK at the end of Year 10 and therefore need to complete their GCSE studies in one year. The course is also suitable for those international students who wish to study an A level programme, but who first need to become familiar with the British curriculum, treated as a Pre-A Level course.

On completion of the program, students can transfer to Mill Hill Primary School to study the A level program, subject to entry requirements.

Pupils study Mathematics and English as the core curriculum + additional Mathematics if required.
Additional subjects: Art and Design, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design and Technology (DT), Economics , geography, history, physics, psychology, physical education.

Accommodation and meals

Students live in the Mill Hill School boarding house. This is a place where children spend their free time from school, feeling truly cozy and comfortable. The school has 4 houses: 2 for boys and girls to live together, but on different floors or in different corridors, and 2 separate (one for boys and one for girls). 

There is a mentor (housemaster or housemistress) living in the house, who is ready to help at any time and answer any question the guys have. In addition, students can seek help with homework from a tutor. The school has a 24-hour medical center, and students can seek help at any time. Food – three times a day in the school cafeteria. Each house also has a small kitchen.

Sport

Competitive and recreational sports occupy a special place in the lives of students, encouraging teamwork and the development of leadership qualities. Mill Hill International pupils participate in a weekly sports play program alongside Mill Hill Primary School pupils. Training is conducted by qualified trainers.

Students enjoy a compulsory program of weekend activities, which provides an opportunity to integrate into school life and feel like a full-fledged student at Mill Hill School. Educational trips to museums and galleries in central London, trips around London and the surrounding area are conducted.

An exciting and varied program of trips allows students to visit different parts of the UK and experience places of cultural, geographical and historical interest. These trips are combined with excursions where children enjoy the outdoors, walking, hiking, biking and outdoor activities.
