The summer camp "Les Tapies" is ideal for students who are interested in art and want to professionally engage in architecture, art or photography.
The camp is located in the south of France, in Provence, in a small 17th-century settlement of Le Tapi. This village carefully preserves, preserves and restores the precious features of folk national architecture: a composition of six stone houses merges with the surrounding countryside and nature, revealing stunning views of the nearby foothills of the Alps and the magnificent Rhone Valley.
KEY FACTORS
- The course is based on intensive training in art; The highlight is a complete immersion in the culture of France with the unique beauty of folk architecture and its magnificent combination with local landscapes.
- Classes are taught by professional art teachers, many with degrees from American universities.
- Excursions in the surroundings and nearby cities will allow you to see all the beauties of the south of France and will be a great source of inspiration.
- The course is especially recommended for students interested in preparing a portfolio before entering a university.
- Pupils will significantly improve the quality and quantity of their work and move to a new stage of creative development.
EQUIPMENT
Le Tapi is a picturesque village of the XVII century, which has been carefully restored with the preservation of its original appearance. The school is equipped with an art studio for drawing and painting, a studio for architectural design, a professional photo studio, a sculpture studio, a spacious dining room and a lounge.
Near the residence there is a terrace with great views, where students gather for barbecue and informal dinners. Students have at their disposal a games room with ping pong, foosball, darts and board games. The school has an outdoor pool.
PROGRAM
Drawing and painting
Students use a variety of materials and techniques, paint landscapes and portraits with acrylic and oil. Classes are held as often as possible outside the classroom, in an open air, surrounded by natural landscapes. This allows you to better get acquainted with the traditional and modern methods of the artist.
The photo
Pupils work with classic film black and white photography; try to photograph on different types of cameras; study the technical process of developing and printing photographs in a professional laboratory. The course teaches to understand the dependence of the quality of photography on the intensity of lighting, composition, colour rendition, texture and shape.
Architecture
The folk architecture of southern France represents a rich heritage and is the benchmark for modern construction. The course does not require architectural experience. The main emphasis is on the development of design thinking and the ability to translate ideas, organically integrating buildings into the environment.
Students will receive maximum practice, as they will work with real tasks. Namely: they will complete the restoration project on redevelopment of the existing building into a suburban family residence, and will do so in such a way that the new building harmoniously integrates with the existing ones.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation in a residence that can accommodate 35 people at a time.
Additional classes
In addition to the main course, students choose one elective course that develops and improves creative skills:
