The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is Canada's oldest technical education institution located in Calgary, the country's fourth largest city. Over the 86 years of its existence, the institute has turned from an ordinary professional school into an institution for teaching modern technologies widely recognized in the country and abroad. KEY FACTORS

• For a student who has chosen the Applied Petroleum Engineering Technology program, SAIT can offer full / part-time research studies. Day, evening and Sunday courses are designed to make the program more flexible.
• A personalized program and selection of electives is designed through consultation to ensure the student's academic success.
• Students are allowed to study in this program for seven years.
• Students in Canada are allowed to work 20 hours a week during their studies.

PROGRAM

SAIT launched a Bachelor of Applied Tech. Petroleum Engineering program in 1995. The program was designed primarily to modernize the education of graduates with technical degrees. However, the program is also designed for students of various backgrounds. An individual training program is developed for each student and a personal mentor is assigned to ensure that the individual program fully meets the needs of the individual student.

The program offers both daytime and evening student attendance. Alternatively, you can combine some daytime courses with some evening time courses, or select distance courses so they can easily fit into any schedule. All students must attend at least 750 hours of classes, as well as complete coursework and complete a workshop within 750 hours. Full-time students usually take two years to complete their studies, while part-time students take more than two years.

ADDITIONAL LESSONS

Additional courses in project management, oil economics, business and finance, environment and safety, teamwork skills, and hands-on training in the software industry will fully prepare graduates for careers in the oil and gas industry.

At the end of their work experience, students must prepare and submit a technical report related to their work experience. Those who successfully defend their paper and achieve the required GPA standard will be awarded the degree - Bachelor of Applied Petroleum Engineering Technology.

DISTANCE LEARNING

BAPT courses are also offered through distance learning or e-learning.

The BAPT program is designed to prepare graduates with a variety of career opportunities in the oil industry in areas such as oil and gas exploration, drilling, reservoir construction and manufacturing, process gas engineering, oil and gas industry design and operation, operations modernization and improvement, and economic analysis.
