Tettenhall College is a private boarding school located in the northwest of England. The college was founded in 1863 at the initiative of a group of businessmen and industrialists of England with the aim of educating children from elite families of the county. College is a 40-minute drive from Birmingham Airport, Tettenhall is a suburb of Wolverhampton.

Tettenhall College is located in an amazingly beautiful area. The campus has a total area of ​​12 hectares, part of it belongs to a large nature reserve with a unique picturesque nature. About 500 students’ study at the school.

In order to feel the life of a British guesthouse, an immersion course is offered: you can come to college for 1-4 weeks. Spring and summer semesters are the best time to dive. PROGRAM

The program is aimed at preparing for high school and subsequent passing the GCSE exams (to obtain a certificate of general secondary education). The emphasis is on the study of English, mathematics and science. Additional languages ​​are also being studied: French or Spanish, history, geography, art, theatre, music, physical education, religious studies. In the 9th grade, the study of business and electronics is added.

In high school, students’ study under the A-level program - a two-year program for preparing for university entrance. Students choose 4 or 5 subjects for in-depth study.

Pre A-level (16-17 years old)

Special one-year course for foreign children. The course allows you to prepare for further training in the A-level program.

The program includes an intensive English course (7 hours a week) and the study of academic subjects (23 hours a week). At the end of the course, children can pass the GCSE exams.

There is a special Pre A-level program in the field of natural sciences - for those students who plan to study in-depth in high school.

ACCOMMODATION

Living in a college residence, there are two houses for students. Most of the rooms are single and double, some rooms with amenities. There is a comfortable common room with a TV, billiards, table tennis and a small kitchen. The houses have a very warm, friendly and family atmosphere. 70 pupils live here.

SPORT

Sport is an important part of school life. Some college students train and compete at the highest level. The sports program is diverse. Sports activities are part of the curriculum and are held at least 3 times a week. The college encourages after-school sports activities as well as participation in team sports. The goal of the school is to encourage students to find the sport that they love and which will become a source of joy for their whole life.

The sports that can be practiced at school: rugby, football, cricket, netball, hockey, tennis, gymnastics, fencing, archery, golf, yoga, karate, step aerobics, squash.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

After lessons, children can take part in affinity clubs: debate club, chess, photography, dance, language club and many others.

On Thursdays and Fridays after classes, students are offered a varied activity program (classes are required to attend). Many activities are aimed at developing life-critical skills in order to give students the widest and most universal education possible. Examples of activism: climbing, cooking, gardening, mountain biking, a theatre club, karate, lifeguard school, golf, art, squash, first aid courses, horse riding, Young Entrepreneurs, film school, engineers club, investment club, classic civilizations, program for the prize of the Duke of Edinburgh.

The college has a strong tradition of musical theatre and is known for the development of musical talent in children at an early age. Classes are held in a variety of musical directions: vocals, instrumental music, choir, composer and conductor art. More than 200 individual lessons are held per week. Classes are conducted by professional musicians and teachers with degrees in music.

The school theatre has a long history, so it is not surprising that the college offers great opportunities for theatrical art. Children play on stage, put on light and sound, create scenery for performances. Each year, the theatre hosts impressive full-scale musical performances and a Christmas play, which is the highlight of the school theatre calendar. The college encourages students to realize their dreams and enrol in prestigious theatre schools, such as the Royal Academy of Theatre Arts.
