EQUIPMENT

The school has excellent facilities: a chapel, a library, the Rugg art and design centre, a sports centre, a music school, and a boat station.

PROGRAM

Leys Education is an education based on three basic principles: academic, student care and an advanced curriculum. All of them are equally important, and each supports and strengthens the other.

Students follow a broad program in their early years and begin to specialize as they enter the GCSE and A Level courses in Sixth Form. Almost all students go to universities.

GCSE

A two-year program for obtaining a certificate of general secondary education. Required to study 6 subjects, 4 subjects are studied by choice.

A-level

A two-year university preparatory program. Students choose 4 or 5 subjects for in-depth study.

ACCOMMODATION

Most students at Leys are full board students. Leys Campus thrives on community life, with a strong sense of identity and unity in every home.

Pupils live in double and triple rooms. Older students are single.

Students' Day starts at 7:30 with breakfast; at 18:00, students have dinner and then return to their home for evening preparation and participate in a wide range of evening activities on campus.

SPORT

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

The extended curriculum is an integral part of the school week for all students.

Performing arts enjoy an excellent reputation. The quality of musical and theatrical productions is very high, and the number and range of opportunities for students means that they can get a huge advantage from participating in concerts and performances while studying at school.

The Cadet Corps (CCF) and the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award scheme provide worthy tasks of a different kind.

At the Rugg Centre (art and design), students of all ages are happy to develop their skills in areas such as ceramics, painting, design and technology, photography.

Through classes, such skills as self-mastery, curiosity, perseverance, determination develop.

On Saturday evenings, events are organized at the school that can be organized by the students themselves (for example, a home movie show) or with a staff member on duty at home. Students have the opportunity to go to Cambridge. For these visits, a specific time is assigned (for each age), and the school makes sure that students are supervised by one of the employees, and for students 13 and older are allowed to attend Cambridge in small groups or pairs.
