Lancing College was founded in 1848 and is located in West Sussex, near Brighton. The school is located in a very picturesque area where one of the most beautiful churches on the south coast of England is located. The school offers a very beautiful view of the sea.

EQUIPMENT

The school is architecturally similar in style to Oxford and Cambridge universities. The magnificent Gothic buildings of Lancing college include an impressive large dining room and a chapel, which is listed as a building of national importance.

The college campus covers an area of ​​22 hectares and is an impressive ensemble consisting of educational buildings, residences, sports facilities, courtyards and even its own farm. The school has a theatre with 156 seats.

The college has excellent sports facilities: a gym, a 25-meter indoor pool, 3 squash courts, a multifunctional gym, all-weather sports fields, all-weather cricket fields, 6 grass tennis courts and 22 hard courts, equipped dance studio, which is also used for fencing and martial arts.

GCSE

A two-year program for passing the exam and obtaining a certificate of general secondary education.

A-level

A two-year university preparatory program. The school offers the most convenient combination of subjects so that students can choose exactly those subjects that are necessary for admission to the selected university. Students choose 4 subjects for in-depth study.

ACCOMMODATION

Residence in one of 9 houses: 4 for girls and 5 for boys. Children live in rooms of several people; high school students live in single rooms. Comfortable conditions for classes and recreation have been created in all buildings: there is a common relaxation room with a TV, video games, computers and game areas. The residence has a very comfortable and emotional atmosphere.

The school has a 24-hour medical centre where children receive qualified assistance at any time.

SPORT

Sports activities in the school are designed to form an excellent physical form in children, to develop character and a healthy competitive spirit. The strongest sports for boys are soccer, hockey, cricket and tennis, for girls - hockey, netball and tennis. The school is also strong in swimming and squash: teams take prizes in competitions at various levels.

You can also practice badminton, fencing, sailing, fishing, horse riding, golf, dancing, aerobics, kickboxing, karate, climbing, volleyball, shooting, rugby, water polo, cross-country running.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

In addition to the main program, creative classes are offered: music, theatre and dancing.

The music department of the school has a long tradition. Students play in an orchestra, sing in a choir or in groups of different directions. The most talented students can achieve significant success and maximize their talents. Up to 300 musical lessons take place every week: instrumental playing, singing, composer training, and theoretical lessons. Many beginners only at school for the first time learn to play a musical instrument and very soon achieve success. During the year, many concerts are held with the participation of students, very often small concerts take place at lunchtime.

Schoolchildren can engage in theatrical art. Each year, 2 large school plays are staged in which children take an active part. The theatre is one of the subjects of choice on the GCSE program. We study the practice of writing a script, staging light and sound, the art of creating stage costumes, theatre makeup - the student chooses the most interesting specialization for him.

Dancing classes are offered in various variations. Dancing is also one of the subjects of choice on the GCSE program. Every year, a grand dance show with the participation of students, as well as the awarding of the best dancers. You can do ballet, modern, yoga and Pilates, jazz.
