IMPRESSIONS FROM A SCHOOL VISIT

The day before I read about the English village of Kingham, imagined endless fields, greenery. But it turned out tbe a hedgehog in the fog! But this did not affect my perception of Kingham Hill. A kind, friendly and warm school.

The buildings on the territory are compact enough, the deputy director is sure that none can get lost, everything is very close, in a couple of weeks newcomers get used tthe road from the boarding houses (there are 11 in the school: four for day students and 7 for residents at school constantly) does not take much time. In addition, walking in such a chic park is a pleasure!

First tour - look around. All buildings are mostly built at the time of foundation. Very beautiful old church with an organ, cute, almost toy houses for the students. The school is proud of the family atmosphere that it is possible tcreate in these houses, because there are only about 30 students in each of them. The weekend program depends on the house, but it’s never boring, although there are nlessons on Saturday.

Cabinets as cabinets, hung with different utilities. But the scientific laboratories of physics and chemistry in a new unit! A graduate of the school - now an architect - designed this building inta general architectural ensemble. Everything is new inside, in the biology class, an iguana lives in the aquarium, every day she thinks that they are coming tvisit her.

I meet with the deputy director Mr. Magnus. He is a mathematician, says that the exact sciences at school are strong, they are alsgood in languages, and the department of art shows good results every year. And absolutely all last year’s graduates entered the first-choice universities.

It draws my attention tan important fact: if you gtthem on the A-Level program, then the requirements for such children are very high and they will carefully monitor their performance, because there was a case in the history of the school when four students did not succeed in receiving the stream sthat they cannot continue tallow this. Traditional English approach and care.

I continue tinspect Kingham Hill School with the Deputy Director Mr. Magnus, although this is not his responsibility - I should have been led by a specially trained manager. However, it is clear that our company interested my attendant. He wants tknow more about us. I tell you that every year we send more than 50 students tEnglish boarding schools.

H shows me their pool, a brand-new gym, classrooms. Out of the corner of my eye I notice that there are nkeys in my hands, and the doors open. Some kind of magic! No, not magic, though. On his hand is a bracelet - an electronic key - programmed on all doors. And the children are the same! We approach the house of boys. Everything is quite ascetic, sometimes there is a mess in the rooms, I think they’re just getting ready for school holidays already.

Mr. Magnus hopes that some of the Russians will join the school community in the near future, because all Russian children showed brilliant results at school.

We say goodbye, but meanwhile Artyom is waiting for me. He is an old-timer, they have been here with his twin brother for seven years. The parents chose the school, he doesn’t even know why this one, but he likes it. He is in year 13 — the last year — about tbecome an architect or industrial designer. The university submits documents the other day.

Now all high school students are united by a common cause. One boy was kicked out of school - cursing at a judge during a rugby match. Rallies, petitions, guys are trying tdeverything treturn him, sincerely experiencing. By the way, this student had the best grades of the year group. I hope they succeed.

Live school, small and active, everyone will have maximum attention and support.
