EQUIPMENT

The school covers an area of ​​32 hectares. Majestic buildings, filled with the spirit of history, are adjacent to modern classrooms, a sports complex and a spacious new dining room.

The school has specially equipped classrooms and recreation areas, the learning process and games are separate from each other. Felsted has spacious playgrounds, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a large sports hall, many fields for playing field hockey, 30 tennis courts, 2 squash courts, 6 netball courts, and a gym.

The library offers access to books (about 14,000 items), periodicals, Internet resources, audio books, DVDs. It is equipped with 3 network computers, 10 laptops, black and white and colour printers. The library is open daily.

The school has a modern music centre with a large concert hall, a recording studio, a percussion room and classrooms, one of which has a Steinway B-Grande piano. The theatre is equipped with professional equipment: fully computerized control of light and sound, box office and buffet, an auditorium with soft chairs. There is a concert hall for 400 people and a well-equipped information and computer technology centre.

PROGRAMS

Junior program

A program for children aged 8 to 11 years, combining:

  • English lessons: three lessons (60 minutes each) per day, 5 days a week. On Sunday mornings, teachers conduct entertainment projects.
  • Academies: students can choose one of three options (Art, Science and Mathematics, Sports and Entertainment), the purpose of which is to feel like a student of a British boarding school.
  • Health and Fitness Program: includes quiet sports activities to keep fit. As a rule, this is the final part for the guys who chose the Sport and Entertainment option, or the introductory part for those who plan to exercise physically during the club.
  • Clubs: extracurricular activities such as music, drama, photography, and some sports activities such as badminton or tennis.

Senior program

Program for students aged 12 to 17 years. Students can choose from two options - learning English or the unique Global Studies program.

The English language program includes:

  • 15 hours of English per week.
  • 5 hours of homework with teachers
  • 3 hours of project sessions on Sundays.

The program is very intensive, designed for children who want to quickly improve their English and confidence in language skills. The program successfully combines classroom instruction with active extracurricular activities.

Global Studies Program (12-17 years old)

  • 15 hours of workshops per week
  • 5 hours of research work per week
  • 3 hours of lectures and discussions on Sundays

Classes are taught by researchers and professionals in their field, lecturers and teachers with extensive experience.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

At Felsted, they consider it vital that the child is in a comfortable and safe environment when learning. Accommodation for our group is offered in two beautifully equipped houses. Boys and girls live separately. For older children (12-17 years old), mostly single rooms are reserved, for younger children (8-11 years old) - rooms for 2-6 people. Girls live in spacious, bright rooms with amenities in a new modern residence. The boys settle in a cosy, beautiful house. Laundry service is included in the price and is available 4 times a week.

All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with an excellent selection of dishes are served in the school cafeteria. The food level at Felsted is highly praised: children compared it to a buffet at a 5-star hotel! In addition, children are provided with evening meals at the residence.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

In addition to the academic part, the older students, as well as the younger ones, have a rich afternoon program, including academies and clubs.

Each academy lasts 2 weeks.

Academy for 12-17 years old:

  • Additional English

Especially for students who want to take lessons based on subjects that are not English lessons. Children can select key subject areas, such as geography, history, or anthropology, demonstrating their language abilities. This is an opportunity to participate in debates, develop terminology and use technical language skills. Lessons are taught by a summer school teacher. Students can take part in 8 lessons from different fields.

  • Mathematics

A bright option for those who want to develop their problem-solving skills. Experienced scientists from Felsted School will work together to create a modern mix of tasks, assignments and design work to test the full range of levels and abilities. For high school, the academy is led by the head teacher of mathematics at the Felsted school, for the younger school a qualified teacher.

  • Sciences

Practical, experimental and analytical academy covering the fields of physics, chemistry and biology. Students strive to achieve their CREST certification (accreditation of the British Council of Science), which can be included in their record of admission to university. Although the school offers a guide for students of different abilities, the children should certainly be interested in the subject and speak good English. The course includes an autopsy, the use of chemicals and powders, which makes it very memorable.

  • Preparation for the IB program

In consultation with the director of the Felsted International Baccalaureate School, this training course aims to prepare those who are thinking or preparing for an international baccalaureate diploma. Attention is focused on the element of the IB program “Creativity, Action and Service” (CAS), how to prepare for an extended essay and how to maximize the use of the theory of knowledge (TOK - Theory of Knowledge).

  • Art

A practical academy for creative students who can take on a number of projects related to the use of glass, mirrors, pastels, paints, clay and felt. The subject areas of the academy are: drawing, sculpture, design. Working in a fun and vibrant atmosphere, students will work on the final project at the end of each week to take it home.

  • Music

Creative Academy for music enthusiasts. Students will develop existing music / gaming skills and play a full range of works with people from all over the world, creating a concert at the end of a two-week course. Students will make full use of the modern Felsted music school, which includes a suite of music technologies, a recording studio and a performance room. This academy will cover a range of genres such as classical, rock, experimental and hip-hop.

  • Sports and recreation

A great option for those students who want to balance language learning in the morning with sporting activities in the afternoon. Participation in traditional British boarding school classes such as badminton, cricket, hockey, rugby and volleyball, as well as classes conducted by school staff who are trained and focused on providing the best possible education.   • Tennis

The academy is led by the director of tennis at Felsted. Pupils will practice on both grass and hard courts, improving their skills before matches with other players. Private lessons are also available at an additional cost.

  • Dancing

Felsted Dance Academy specializes in various dance techniques and styles. It seeks to cover several topics and approaches so that students can demonstrate their skills, regardless of their past experience. The goal is to maximize the diversity of the national groups that attend summer school and use their traditional dance approaches to create shows at the end of each week.

  • Theatrical art

A bright and brilliant course for beginner young actors under the guidance of professionally trained and dedicated instructors. The culmination of the academy is an evening show on the last day of a two-week course, which is the highlight of the program.

  • Fashion

Have you ever wanted to design and produce your own garment? This popular textile academy will guide you step by step through the various steps and processes for a two-week course.
