Success story of Denis Doskovskikh

During his school years, Denis went every summer to language camps in England, Canada, and Australia to study English and broaden his horizons. In high school I studied in the IB program in my native Krasnoyarsk – in English.

After graduating from school, Denis went on a Foundation course to Australia with a friend, but a year later he realized that this country was not for him. He entered the university in Ireland, in the town of Waterford, where he studied from February 2014 for a bachelor's degree in finance at the Waterford Institute of technology. The young man was amazed by the strong teachers and deep programs. It turned out that MANY FINANCIAL COMPANIES COME HERE TO HUNT FOR STAFF.

For all 4 years, Denis lived in a dorm and worked part-time at the reception there. He liked the international composition of the university: Europeans, Brazilians. And the latter are always in a good mood :)

For the first two years, our hero studied all aspects of business, in the third he began specializing, Denis chose accounting. In the 2nd semester of the third year, students were offered to go on exchange to another country, either do a big project, or start a small start-up. Denis chose an internship at Ernst & Young, where I was engaged in a REAL AUDIT for 6 months.

Communication with directors of many companies, constant research, and the learning process itself captivated Denis. The depth of study of subjects in the 4th year was amazing, the level of complexity increased many times compared to the first years.

From the very beginning of his 4th year, Denis began looking for a job, applying to 50 companies. Half immediately refused due to the fact that he was not a citizen of the European Union and did not have the right to work. Even though Denis’s specialty is in short supply.

The company Denis ended up working for, Kerry Group, announced a competition for 72 places, receiving 5,440 applications!

Denis went through 3 stages within six months (!). The tests were for logic, the ability to make decisions, and also for understanding professional texts. And there was also an interview: there is a question on the screen, they record you and send you a video.

This is a program without human participation. After successfully completing it, Denis was paid for a trip to the head office, with a hotel, to present a project, for which they were given 48 hours: a group project with other candidates, without prior preparation, on the ability to work in team. All in one day! And in conclusion – mini-interview by phone. The last shot, as they say. And the long-awaited contract!

Denis is happy to get a job here. At first he worked in the financial control department. Then he was promoted and received the position of financial logistician. And there was a reason: our hero automated the work, saving 2 days a month of work using macros (such a trick in Excel)

He says the team is great – interesting, smart people, carefully selected at the entrance. The company is large: 1000 people work in their building alone.

Denis plans to stay in Ireland; he is currently taking exams, 13 in total, to obtain ACCA – international financial qualifications. Only 2 left – financial investments and investment indicator.

Denis likes Ireland: according to him, it is like England in miniature. Fresh, delicious food, little stress... Our hero plans to obtain citizenship of this country. And then... it will be seen! The whole world is open to Denis!
