Ecole Nouvelle
An international school located in the French-speaking region of Switzerland, in the heart of Europe, in Lausanne, near the Swiss Alps from Lake Geneva. Located an hour's drive from Geneva airport. It was founded in 1906. The school overlooks Lausanne's medieval cathedral and has access to the city's many sports facilities.
The founder of the school, Eduard Vittoz, believed that quality education is based on assessing the individuality of children, flexible educational programs and the harmonious development of children.
The school has a very high quality of education – highly qualified and competent teachers dedicated to their students. Foreign students are welcome here, even those who do not speak French.
There are over 600 people studying at the school.
Key factors
- Diversity and multilingualism – important principle of the school. This promotes a spirit of openness and intercultural exchange. High school students can choose a bilingual diploma in English and French, which gives access to Swiss and international universities.
- German is introduced from 4th grade, Spanish and Latin are offered from 7th grade onwards. Italian and Spanish languages can be added to the program. For those who are not native speakers of French or English, courses in French or English as a foreign language are offered.

Equipment
The International Olympic Committee is located in Lausanne. The school is ideally located between Lake Geneva and the Alps and is the starting point for skiing and snowboarding on winter weekends, as well as water sports.
The school has modern sports facilities: a recently renovated well-equipped gym, sports hall, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, football field, athletic track and multi-sports court, tennis court, climbing wall, ping-pong tables, tabletop football, multimedia rooms, library, creative workshops, chemistry and biology laboratories and much more.
The historic residence building is located in the center of a beautiful green space of 2.5 hectares. In the main building, there are residences on three floors where students live. There is a special bus from the residence to the school.
Program
Middleschool (10-13 years old)
Transitional program, from childhood to adolescence. Her goal – optimize the potential of each student thanks to the support of the teaching staff.

From the age of 14, students choose one of two high school programs: Swiss Maturity or IB (International Baccalaureate). The first two years – preparation for training according to the program. From the age of 16 – studying one of the two programs.
Swiss Maturity
The two-year program consists of 13 subjects, of which there are 1 main, 1 special and 1 additional subject option + extended research project of 4000 words. This allows students to prepare for future studies at university level. The Swiss Maturity diploma allows you to gain access to all universities in the world, including Swiss polytechnics, which have an international reputation.
This program is taught only in official national languages: Frenchcom, German or Italian.
InternationalBaccalaureateDiploma (IB)
The International Baccalaureate program is recognized by universities around the world. 6 subjects are studied: 3 at an advanced level and 3 at a standard level. In addition to this, students write an extended essay, take a course in “Theory of Knowledge” and (practical philosophy) and the CAS course ("Creativity, activity and mutual assistance").

One-year immersion program (12-18 years old)
Opportunity to immerse yourself in a French-speaking learning environment for 1 year, while improving your French language skills and learning more about the local culture.
Accommodation
Accommodation in a residence on the school grounds, in a comfortable and family environment. Students live in large, bright double rooms (in single rooms for an additional fee, subject to availability). Only 60 people live in the residence. The rooms' breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and the Alps create a unique and inspiring environment. In this comfortable, safe, international environment, students have every opportunity to focus on their studies.
