Sotogrande summer school

Sotogrande International School was founded in 1978 for Spanish children who would like to immerse themselves in the British education system while being in their native country. The school is located in Andalusia, a vibrant tourist area of ​​Spain. This is one of the most beautiful places on the famous Costa del Sol resort coast. The most convenient way to get to the school is from the airports of Malaga (90 km) and Gibraltar (20 km).

In summer, the school offers a program for children who want to improve their language and sports skills. The emphasis is on language lessons and active sports.

EQUIPMENT

The territory of the school is a large estate with the most first-class equipment for study and sports. School buildings are connected to each other by paths and grass fields, the campus is surrounded by trees, there is a lot of greenery.

Excellent equipment: two computer laboratories, a multimedia library, a music school, an art studio and a fully equipped theatre. The school is highly technological: the classes are equipped with projectors, interactive whiteboards, plasmas and Apple MacBook Pro computers. All high school students are given laptops.

Sports equipment: 25-meter pool, a huge multi-functional sports hall, football and basketball courts with hard surface, all-weather sports fields and a running track. The school collaborates with local sports clubs where students can practice golf, tennis, horse riding, polo and water sports.

The campus has a cafeteria and a dining room. Recently, the school acquired its own 4-star hotel, where children studying on the basis of the boarding school live.

PROGRAM

Junior Program (8-13 years old)

You can study English, Spanish or French. Classes are taught by native speakers. The class has a maximum of 12 people. In addition to the lessons, children will have a choice of activities: golf, water sports, tennis, horse riding, football, music, film-making. In the evenings, children relax and take part in recreational activities, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays they go on exciting excursions.

Master Program (14-17 years old)

You can study English or Spanish. Classes are taught by native speakers. The class has a maximum of 12 people. In addition to the lessons, children will have a choice of activities: horse riding, water sports, tennis, golf, sailing. In the evening, children will enjoy entertaining events, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays - excursions.

Golf Camp (12-17 years old)

Dates: June 30 – August 3, 2024, for 1, 2, 3 weeks.
The purpose of the Summer Camps with the Jason Floyd Golf Academy is to educate our campers with the necessary skills to improve, not only in their golfing performance, but in their life performance also, ultimately improving their golfing ability but also personal self-confidence and independence. Through learning the various techniques of the game, from the Tee to the Green, along with education on how to prepare physically, nutritionally and mentally,  we help campers create structure in their daily routines, develop confidence in their newly learned skills and learn the importance of team work by completing numerous skill based team challenges.

Tennis Camp (10-17 years old)

Dates: June 30 – July 27, 2024, for 1, 2, 3 weeks.
The purpose of the Summer Camps with La Reserva de Sotogrande Tennis Academy  is to educate our campers with the necessary skills to improve their tennis performance,as well as personal self-confidence and independence. Through learning the various techniques of the game we help campers create structure in their daily routines, develop confidence in their newly learned skills. On off days, campers will have the opportunity to go to the beach and on excursions with fellow campers, ensuring those days are spent productively, enjoying and experiencing other things.

Polo camp (14-17 years old)

Dates: July 7–20, for 2 weeks.
Elite Polo Camp has been specially designed for children between 14 and 17 years old.  Packed with opportunities to make friends, learn horse riding and polo skills in an exciting, safe and dynamic environment, the Sotogrande area is famously known for Polo in the area. The first week they will work on their riding skills in the mornings and will have the possibility to learn a new language in the afternoon. The second week they will participate in different Polo activities where they will learn all the basics, both related to the horse, as well as practising without a horse (theory, rules and tactics) and ending the week with a “beginners match” which is an experience they will not forget. The other section of the camp is learning to help the petiseros, to dismount the horses, take care of them, feed them and take them to their respective stables or corrals. 

ACCOMMODATION

Residence in a former 4-star hotel, now owned by the school. It has a safe, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. On the territory there is WI-FI.

Pupils live in spacious double rooms with air conditioning, each room has a bathroom and toilet. In the residence, students have at their disposal a large outdoor pool, a gym, a dance studio, a study room, a music rehearsal room, a kitchen, a relaxation room with a TV. Plenty of room for sports, including a basketball court.

SPORT

For children aged 8-13 years, 15 hours a week of sports are held. For children 14-17 years old - 12 hours.

The sports program is an important component of the summer school. Classes are held with partners of the school, in specialized sports centres located nearby. All classes are taught by professional trainers.

EXCURSIONS

On Saturdays, excursions in the surroundings are provided, including hiking, trips to the water park and visits to the beaches.

For children 14-17 years old, fascinating excursions to interesting places are held:

• Amazonia Adventure Park
• Tarifa - 10 kilometres of beautiful snow-white sandy beaches. Children will spend all day playing beach volleyball and football and swimming in the clear water of the Atlantic Ocean.
• Gibraltar with historical monuments, labyrinths of underground tunnels and other attractions
• Puerto Banus in Marbella - the famous marina with luxury yachts and cars
