IMPRESSIONS OF THE FOUNDER OF PARADISE (NATASHA STREIN) ABOUT VISITING THE SCHOOL

Arina and Timofey are students of the 12th grade of the famous Scottish boarding school Glenalmond College. They finish school next year and have already chosen a specialty: they will be engineers.

They are beautiful: fluent English and perfectly placed Russian, good manners, excellent social skills: they not only answer my questions, but ask their own, support small talk - such an important skill for a well-educated individual. With such nice to be near the festive table - there will be something to talk about! They are joking, they are smart, helpful, they know a lot and know what they want from life.

Arina from Odessa, she’s been here for 5 years. Timofey - from Moscow, at school for 4 years. I ask him if he was afraid to go to Scotland when he was only 13 years old. “I was very afraid,” Timothy admits. "He came and brought me to my room, which he shared with two boys. Both came right away, introduced themselves and shook my hand. Well, what now to do, I think? And then it started! All 50 people living in the house, they started flocking to my room, introducing themselves and shaking my hand, greeting me. It was a shock! Of course, after this I felt at ease. "

Timothy smiles at a pleasant memory. He likes that in addition to the general gym there is a simulator right in his house. True, go to classes - 7 minutes at a quick pace! Sometimes the guys are furious with the weather - one day there may be sun, wind, rain, hail, snow ... but they are not discouraged: if you do not like the weather in Scotland, wait 15 minutes, as the locals say. They see a car here once a week, and they drive it even less often! Tim Moscow does not miss a bit of traffic jams!

“When I arrived in Scotland,” he continues, “I learned two things: 1. That you can live in school. 2. What can be enjoyed from this! "

Arina came to school even earlier: at age 12. I ask what needs to be told to children who are afraid to go to boarding school? She replies: "Advise them to come here and spend a day at school, GET THE ENJOYMENT of life at school." I wonder if the staff are kind at school. She smiles slightly: "To be kind is as if necessary!"

Well, what about teachers? Do not yell? Do not piss off? Both think hard. Shake their heads negatively. Arina says that sometimes it happens that one of the teachers will flare up, but then she apologizes very much for this. She believes that entering this school was the best decision of her life. The elder brother, who had just graduated from the insanely prestigious University of Edinburgh, also studied here.

Before Arina and Timothy lies many roads. The main thing is that they have a choice! They can do whatever they want because they are ready. Ready for real life.

Good luck guys!
