Our eldest son Philip came to study at King William's College Private Boarding School on the Isle of Man in September 2013. Prior to that, he studied for 9 years at the Cervantes School with Advanced Study of the Spanish Language No. 1252 in Moscow. It was his desire to change school and try to study in a completely different environment and with a different approach. Philip's English at that time, frankly, left much to be desired! But his motivation to study was perhaps the most important thing during these 3 years.
When looking for a school, our wishes were the location - away from London, the "intimate" school and a small number of Russian-speaking students. Until that moment, we had never been to the island and, to be honest, did not know much about it.
After visiting the school in March 2013 with Philip, we really liked the school, its location, and the excellent results of the school graduates. And the island itself just fell in love with itself! "Every time you fly to the Isle of Man, you feel a special aura, there are wonderful people here and this is perhaps one of the cleanest and safest places on earth," Philip said.
During his studies at KWC, Philip not only radically changed his attitude towards learning, but also became an independent, interesting, versatile person. He also changed in communication with us, began to appreciate the very concept of a family, it became pleasant to talk to him on any topic, he could argue all his thoughts and decisions. He fell in love with history, Spanish and absolutely fell in love with English, started playing rugby, and most importantly, now he has so many friends all over the world!
After 3 academic years, Philip successfully passed the IB exams and entered University College London at the Faculty of Modern Languages, where, in addition to Spanish with English, he will also study German. The school employs wonderful teachers and staff who find their own individual approach to each student and, most importantly, become friends!
