The history of Language Studies International (LSI) begins in 1965, when the first school opened in the Kensington district of London. Over the next fifty years, the global network expanded to fifteen schools in eight countries.

In the Canadian city of Vancouver, the LSI language school has been operating since 1993. General courses

• Day course
• 10 lessons per week. 1 lesson: 50 minutes.

This course is suitable for those who want to develop fluency, expand vocabulary and improve pronunciation. The emphasis is on communication in everyday situations, during classes for discussion topics such as cinema and theatre, current events, politics, local cultural life and the Internet can be offered.

General course 20

• 20 lessons per week (4 lessons per day). 1 lesson: 50 minutes
• Course Duration: 1-50 weeks
• Number of hours per week: 16 hours 40 minutes

In the process of training, you will quickly improve your communication skills in various everyday situations. The first 2 daily classes will be devoted to grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, the next 2 - to the skills of oral speech, listening, reading and writing. In training, textbooks are used, as well as a wide variety of materials and exercises, including role-playing games, authentic notes, newspapers and magazines.

Intensive 25/30

• 25 or 30 lessons per week. 1 lesson: 50 minutes. Levels from beginner to advanced.
• Course Duration: 1-50 weeks.
• Monday-Tuesday: 6.5 lessons per day; Wednesday-Friday: 4 lessons per day

Students study in the same program as in the course "General Course 20", 4 lessons daily. In the afternoon (5-6 lessons) optional subjects are offered that meet any level, needs and interests.

International School Year / General Course 20 or Intensive 25/30

The International School Year program is a great opportunity to learn a foreign language, immerse yourself in a new culture and make friends from all over the world. The school develops an individual curriculum for each student, taking into account the level of language proficiency, the goals of its study and the desired duration of the course.

Business English

• 10 lessons per week.
• The opportunity to attend these afternoon classes as part of the Intensive 30 course
• Course duration: 1-23 weeks.
• Intermediate to advanced levels.
• Each block of subjects is studied separately for one week.
• The course can be taken as part of the International School Year program.
• You can join the course every Monday.

English is recognized as an international language for business communication. For this reason, the school has carefully developed a special modular course designed to develop business communication skills. In the morning, students attend classes in the Intensive 30 course. In the daytime, blocks of business-oriented subjects are studied - banking and securities markets, marketing and advertising, recruitment, sales and negotiations. You can select individual blocks of interest or complete the course to acquire advanced knowledge of business English.

Premium courses

The LSI school provides specialized language training tailored to the specific needs of the student in individual lessons or in small groups. These courses focus on language training for professional purposes and can be adapted to your special needs.

9-day compact course

Individual leadership training

• 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 individual lessons per week.

Individual tuition is the fastest way to learn a foreign language. Regardless of whether it is necessary to study the language for general or special purposes, each course will be fully adapted to the needs of the student and the speed of mastering the material. This option is ideal for people with special tasks or limited time. It will be especially convenient for specialists and managers preparing for business trips abroad or for negotiations or speaking in a foreign language. Teachers will always respond to any further wishes of the student.

Mini Group Course

• 20 or 30 lessons per week.
• Number of people in the group: no more than 5.
• Minimum age: 19 years.
• Intermediate to advanced levels.
• 1 lesson: 50 minutes.
• Number of hours per week: 16.7 / 25.
• Beginning of courses: every Monday.

The course is for students who are interested in an individual and interactive approach to learning. Mini-group courses focus on basic grammar and language skills. Particular attention is paid to communication at negotiations, speeches and meetings, which will be useful both in business and in any other situations. These courses are an interesting alternative to the General 20 and Intensive 30 courses for more mature students.

Academic courses "LSI 30 "with preparation for the Cambridge exam (CAE)

• 30 lessons per week.
• Levels from intermediate advanced to advanced.
• 1 lesson: 50 minutes.
• Number of hours per week: 25 hours.

The Certificate of Advanced English Proficiency (CAE) is intended for people who are fluent in English and apply it in their work. Examination fees are not included in the course price.

"LSI 30" with Cambridge Exam Preparation (FCE)

• 30 lessons per week.
• Middle level.
• 1 lesson: 50 minutes.

The First Certificate is the most popular of Cambridge exams; it can open up new opportunities for a student to grow and continue his education. The courses are designed in such a way as to prepare the student for all 5 stages of the exam (reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar) and help to feel confident in the exam. Examination fees are not included in the course price.

For academic purposes

• Duration: 30 x 50 minutes (25 hours).
• From intermediate to advanced level.
• Course Duration: 4-48 weeks.

An English course for academic purposes combines a general English course with an emphasis on key learning skills and exams in that language. The program includes regular, narrow-topic reviews of grammar and vocabulary, which allows students to plan their individual needs, while developing academic reading and writing skills. All this is facilitated by dedicated, focused online resources within our E-LSI online learning system.

IELTS Exam Preparation Course

The IELTS exam is internationally recognized in the English-speaking world, its results are a weighty argument for employment, as well as a prerequisite for admission to colleges and universities in many English-speaking countries, with the exception of Canada and the United States. The school runs preparatory courses for this exam as part of the Intensive 30 courses.

TOEFL Exam Preparation Course

Club 40+

LSI invites adult students of all ages, all those who are “young at heart”, to all available courses year-round for its courses. In addition, the school organizes cultural activities that will satisfy any student requests.

• 20 lessons per week in classes with students of different ages (16.67 hours per week).
• Afternoon Activities: 3 per week.
• Course Duration: 1-4 weeks.
• Minimum age: 40 years
• Level from beginner to advanced.

Examples of leisure: visiting the winery, guided tours of the rainforest, acquaintance with the Maori weaving art, boat trips, theatre visits, visiting the Kew Gardens Botanical Garden.

ACCOMMODATION

For students under 18 years of age, homestay, in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Families are carefully selected. Students live in single or double rooms, three meals a day are provided. All families live in convenient transport accessibility from the school.

Students from 18 years old can stay at the residence of the University of British Columbia or in a hotel in downtown Vancouver. Accommodation in single, double and multi-bed rooms. Meals are paid separately.
