Les Elfes in Verbier

Les Elfes International Camp is located in the famous ski resort of Verbier, a 2-hour drive from Geneva Airport. The school consists of two chalets built in a typical Swiss style. They are located in a quiet, peaceful place 5 minutes from the centre of the town.

Verbier is located in the French part of Switzerland, and therefore French is the more common language in the camp. However, English is no less common in the camp, students will have the opportunity to practice a foreign language with their friends, which is perhaps one of the most natural ways of learning a language.

KEY FACTORS

• Every year, representatives of 70 nationalities come to the camp - an ideal place for new acquaintances and rich language practice.
• At the same time, the camp accepts only 146 children, so each child is surrounded by constant attention and care.
• In the intensive program class, a maximum of 7 students. The teacher’s maximum attention to the student.
• The camp specializes in outdoor activities. The purpose of the camp is to introduce students to new sports and entertainment that are as safe as possible. And also do everything so that students make progress in the sports with which they are already familiar.
• Child safety is a priority. All employees have a valid certificate of first aid and are necessarily checked by the camp security service.

EQUIPMENT

Two chalets - wooden and stone - built in a traditional Alpine style, located in a green, environmentally friendly place, just a five-minute walk from the center of Verbier. Students are offered: two spacious, sunny dining rooms, a living room with a fireplace, a huge terrace equipped for barbecue, a library, a games room, a cinema hall, a disco, classrooms, a conference room, rooms with table tennis, billiards and table football.

The campus has a golf course, outdoor table tennis, basketball courts, a ski and snowboard storage room, a volleyball court and, in the summer, even a trampoline with a safety net.

PROGRAM

Language classes are held in the morning, after breakfast. You can study French, German, English and Spanish. Students are divided into groups according to the test results. The school offers three types of courses:

• Foreign language for communication. The program includes 8 hours of classes per week. This is a required part of the program.
• Intensive foreign language. 15 hours of classes per week. The course combines reading, writing and speaking. The course is ideal for students who are studying a foreign language for the exam or who want to make quick and impressive progress in knowledge of the language in just 1 week.
• Individual lessons with a teacher. One-on-one training with a teacher allows you to concentrate on problematic topics and work them out as deeply as possible. Classes can be added to standard or intensive courses. The student himself determines how much time he wants to study additionally.

ACCOMMODATION

Students live in a chalet, in spacious comfortable rooms for 2-4 people. All rooms have a private bathroom. Girls and boys live in different buildings. Each chalet has a professionally equipped kitchen.

Meals in the school cafeteria: buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with a wide variety of dishes. All food is prepared with fresh products, and the menu is balanced and ideally suited to the active camp program. Wishes for a child’s diet are considered, the menu can be personalized.

SPORT

• Golf - children practice on an 18-hole course at an altitude of 1,500 meters with amazing mountain views. Classes are conducted by professional instructors.
• Ball games: football, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, table tennis, squash, badminton.
• Tennis - tournaments and individual lessons with a coach are held.
• Hiking is a great opportunity to see the beauty of Switzerland and even touch the wildlife a bit. A two-day hiking trip with an overnight stay in the mountains.
• Sports on ice: ice skating, hockey, figure skating, curling.
• Water sports: swimming, sailing, banana riding, water skiing.
• Mountain bike - around the school there are tracks for classes of different intensities.
• Rock climbing - classes are conducted by professional instructors, and children train on the wall located on this mountain.
• Rope course: bungee, zip-line, swing over the bridge.
• Horseback riding.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

In addition to sports activities, children can choose between several art clubs that they will attend. Children will be able to develop their talents and find out what their creative part of personality is capable of.

ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITIES

In the evenings, a program of events is held for children: talent shows, bonfire gatherings, picnics, discos, barbecue and much more.

EXCURSIONS

The school organizes excursions to the cities of Bern, Lausanne, Vevey, Geneva (visiting the United Nations and the Old Town), Montreux (visiting the Chillon Castle). There are excursions to the chocolate and cheese factories. Children will see all the best that Switzerland has to offer.
