Lausanne is located on the shores of Lake Geneva, 66 km from Geneva, in the centre of the wine region. Picturesque slopes, meadows and vineyards flooded with sun, alpine peaks reflected in the crystal waters of the lake create unique landscapes.

Lausanne is an important business and cultural centre where music and film festivals are held annually, prestigious educational institutions and headquarters of international organizations work, medieval architectural monuments, beautiful parks, promenades and terraces with cosy restaurants and cafes are located. The healing mountain climate and the cleanest air of Lake Geneva make Lausanne an ideal place for relaxation and study. Travel time by train: to Paris - 3.5 hours, to Milan and Munich - 4 hours.

Lemania College is located in Lausanne, in the heart of French-speaking Switzerland, in a calm and green quarter. It was founded in 1908 and during this time managed to gain wide fame far beyond the borders of the country. Since its foundation, Lemania College has grown into one of the largest private school associations in Switzerland. Central Station and the City Center Place of San Francois are a 10-minute walk away.

KEY FACTORS

• Ability to choose the duration of the intensity (15 or 20 lessons per week).
• Groups of different levels of knowledge of the language: from elementary to advanced.

• The college is an authorized TOEIC exam centre (English test for international communication), as well as a Goethe Institute examination centre.

EQUIPMENT

The school has a homely atmosphere. There is a private pool, tennis court, numerous sports fields, as well as a stunning dance floor. Also: 25 cosy and bright classrooms with modern equipment for training, recreation areas.

PROGRAM

The structure of the courses is based on a communicative technique and includes 4 basic elements necessary for the successful study of a foreign language: speaking practice, listening, grammar / writing and reading. Upon arrival, distribution testing is mandatory.

You can choose a course of English (or French) in three options:

• Intensive English language program.
• Intensive French language program.

Both programs include 15 or 20 hours of language lessons per week taught in the morning.

• The IELTS program offers IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam preparation through intensive English language training and fun activities.
  The duration of the program is 4 weeks (June 30-July 28, July 7-August 4, 2024).

The program of all courses also includes the development of such aspects of the language as grammar, vocabulary, spoken language, literary language (idioms). The course program focuses on the use of language in everyday situations. 

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

Residence in a college residence.

Accommodation options: single or double room:

• "standard": shower and toilet on the floor
• "comfort": with shower and fridge, toilet on the floor
• "comfort" with shower, fridge and toilet

The residence provides bed linen and towels, daily housekeeping is provided.

Three meals a day in the school cafeteria. The menu is very diverse - meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, dairy products are always present in the daily diet.

SPORT

Tennis, squash, skiing and snowboarding, bodybuilding, swimming, horse riding, water skiing, windsurfing, cycling, etc. Classes are conducted by qualified trainers. In winter, if there are a sufficient number of participants, skiing weekends are organized.

Entertaining activities

Lausanne has many galleries, museums, theatres, as well as ballet and music groups. Their performances form a rich cultural calendar of the city. The college welcomes and encourages students to attend these performances. Excursions around Lake Geneva are regularly organized.

Periodically, excursions are organized to introduce students to the sights of Lausanne and Switzerland.

• Bern is the capital of Switzerland.
• Gruyere - the capital of cheese making.
• Geneva - An overview of local attractions, UN European Headquarters.
• Lausanne - Overview of local attractions, Olympic Museum.
• Lucerne - an automobile museum.
• Montreux - an overview of local attractions, a visit to the Castle of Chillon.
• Neuchatel - the capital of watchmakers.
