The school was founded in 1882. This is one of the oldest educational institutions in Switzerland, a member of the Swiss Association of private schools. Brillantmont is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the European Council of International Schools.

The school is located in the centre of Lausanne in a magnificent 10-acre park, where it occupies seven buildings surrounded by greenery. There are cafes and shops within a five-minute walk of the school. Lausanne is a French-speaking city with a population of 250,000 people on the shores of Lake Geneva, which has a rich historical past and plays a crucial role in education, culture, tourism, sports and economics.

A summer school is a wonderful combination of intensive language lessons, interesting excursions to the most beautiful and significant places and a variety of sporting events.

EQUIPMENT

The college is well equipped with science laboratories, libraries with Internet access, a photo laboratory, a multimedia centre for learning foreign languages, and an art studio.

PROGRAM

You can study English and French. Classes are held for students of all levels: from beginners to advanced. Upon arrival, students are tested and identified in a group corresponding to the level of the language.

Classes are held in the mornings from 9:00 to 12:15 with a short break. At first, classes focused on the study of grammar and linguistic structure, and then on communication and communication in a foreign language. To practice the language in real conditions, students go on excursions, visit local markets, cathedrals and exhibitions.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

Boys and girls are accommodated in accordance with their age in rooms for one or two people (students from different nationalities are encouraged to stay). They offer beautiful views of the lake or the Alps.

Teachers live together with students, looking after them, organize evening events, they are always ready to help and answer questions.

Three meals a day are organized in the school cafeteria, the menu is a classic French cuisine with the obligatory presence of vegetarian dishes. You can also grab a bite to eat at the school cafeteria.

SPORT

After lunch, all children take part in the camp’s sports program. The program includes sports such as tennis, basketball, soccer, volleyball, Zumba, running, hockey. Lake Geneva is 10 minutes from the school - this allows you to practice almost all kinds of water sports in the summer (swimming, surfing, riding a banana) under the guidance of experienced trainers.

ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITIES

After lessons, children can choose activity options:

• Active sports. Children will enjoy a variety of sports on the beautiful lake or on campus: tennis, trampoline, basketball, football,
  rugby, banana boat riding, rowing and much more.
• Programming and robotics. Children will create their own programmable robot to take home. An excellent introduction to the world of computer programming and logic problem solving. Cost CHF 100 per week.
• Intense tennis with a professional coach will help you improve your skills to take your game to the next level (Advanced Player Program).
• Creative studio activities: oil painting, photography, sculpture, art and design.

Various activities are organized several times a week: arts and crafts, cooking classes, bowling, quiz, cinema, treasure hunt, ice skating, talent show and much more. Every Friday the school organizes a barbecue and a disco.

EXCURSIONS

On Saturdays, a full day excursion is provided. The convenient location of the school in the centre of Switzerland allows you to organize excursions to various parts of the country: to Lausanne, Bern and Geneva. Visits to historical places and museums are designed to arouse children's interest in art and history, and excursions to picturesque corners of untouched nature - to inspire respect and love for it.

On Sunday, a guided tour is also provided, such as rock climbing in Arolle, visiting caves, visiting salt mines in Becks, a water park, hiking and much more.
