DLD College London

DLD College London is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in the UK. It was founded in 1931 and is located in the very centre of London. The college is located in a historic building next to Westminster Bridge, overlooking Big Ben, the Parliament Building and the River Thames.

The college specializes in effective preparation for university admission. About 500 students study here. The composition is very diverse: future artists, scientists, musicians, actors, linguists and mathematicians’ study at the college. This is one of the best UK colleges for A-level exams.

EQUIPMENT

This modern metal and glass building is located next to Waterloo Underground Station. It offers views of the Parliament Building, The Gherkin and The Shard skyscrapers, and St. Paul's Cathedral.

The school has 55 classrooms with 60 touch screens and 5 classrooms for individual instruction. There is a theatre with modern LED lighting, a huge screen and professional sound. Two music classes are fully equipped with modern iMac computers and software, their own recording studio, 3 classes for rehearsals with acoustic and digital pianos and a drum set. Three art studios, photo studio. Separate biology, chemistry and physics laboratories with interactive touch screens.

PROGRAM

GCSE

The program for obtaining a certificate of general secondary education. Intensive one-year course. The minimum level of English for studying in the program is IELTS 4.5 or equivalent. For international students, a two-year GCSE course is offered, the first semester of which is an introductory course before the main course.

A-level

A two-year university preparatory program. The college offers a wide selection of academic subjects. Students choose 4 or 5 subjects for in-depth study. The minimum level of English for studying in the program is IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

Foundation

Alternative to the A-level program: for students who require more focused training before entering a university. Throughout the academic year, students will improve their language skills and deepen their knowledge of the academic subjects necessary for admission. The program is available in the following specialties: business, music, art, engineering, humanitarian subjects.

Preparatory Course

A course that students can take before studying for the main college programs: GCSE, A Level or International Foundation. Helps to improve the English level required for study, and also provides basic skills for successful study in the UK. The duration of the program is 1 year (variations are possible depending on the needs of the student).

The course is intended for students with an English level of Elementary (A2) or Intermediate (B1). Training with A1 level is possible. The course is not intended for absolute beginners.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

Residence in a 15-storey building in double and single rooms. Boys and girls are separated. Each room has a bed, desk, wardrobe and bathroom. On each floor there is a large common space in which there are: a kitchen, comfortable sofas and armchairs, a large table for group classes.

Three meals a day in the school cafeteria. There is a Starbucks café on site where you can buy hot drinks and snacks.

SPORT

Archery, basketball, badminton, boxing, football, rock climbing, functional training, yoga and meditation, learning relaxation techniques.
