Cambridge Tutors College is a preparatory college specializing in graduate qualification programs for international students planning to enrol in UK universities. The high professionalism of teachers and the effectiveness of curricula open the way for graduates to the most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom - Oxford and Cambridge Universities, the London School of Economics, University and Imperial Colleges in London.
The college is located in the town of Croydon, in the south of London. Croydon is a wonderful town with lots of shops, cinemas, theatres, a city library, several swimming pools, an arts centre and a concert hall. Convenient transport system allows you to get to central London in 15 minutes by train. The college is located next to a park, within walking distance of the vibrant centre.
Great attention in college is paid to successful admission to universities. Students have access to an extensive consulting program, including presentations from university representatives, meetings with faculty, the deputy director of the college, as well as with independent career consultants. Particular attention is paid to students planning to enrol in Oxford and Cambridge universities, as well as medical and dental schools.
KEY FACTORS
- The maximum number of students per class is 9. Teachers can pay sufficient attention to the individual needs of each.

EQUIPMENT
The college buildings are a mix of old and modern buildings. Most of the classrooms are located in the main historic school building. Built in 2003, the Osborne Study Centre includes a library with a self-study room for 60 people, an information technology centre and a large auditorium with the latest equipment used for lectures, meetings and debates. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, a computer lab, an art workshop and several music classrooms.
PROGRAM
GCSE
High school. Age: from 15 years old.
Duration - 1 year, training starts in September.
Accelerated one-year GCSE course for the British Certificate of General Secondary Education. As part of the program, students’ study five subjects, of which English and mathematics are compulsory. A course for international students planning to study in the UK. To study, an English level of at least IELTS 5.0 or equivalent is required.
Pre-GCSE
Preparation for the GCSE course. To study, an English level of at least IELTS 3.5 or equivalent is required.
A-level
Senior classes. Age: from 16 years old.
The University Preparation Program is offered in two versions: a 2-year course starting in September or an accelerated 18-month course starting in January.
Students study 4 subjects during the first year of study at the AS level and 3-4 subjects in the second year of study at the A2 level. At the end of the course, final exams are taken. High scores on the A-Level exams are an essential requirement for admission to prestigious British universities.
Foundation course
A one-year course for foreign students who need additional preparation before studying on the A-level course.
Oxbridge / Medicine program
A course for students planning to enrol in Oxford or Cambridge in the Faculty of Medicine or Veterinary Medicine. The course lasts one year
IELTS
If the level of knowledge of English is not high enough, the student attends classes to prepare for the IELTS exam. Classes are compulsory until the student reaches IELTS level 7.0 or higher, if necessary for admission to the chosen university.
ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD
Students live with English families within walking distance or a short bus ride to school. Each student is provided with a separate room with furniture. The college cooperates with a large number of families and has the ability to consider the wishes of students, for example, the need for special dietary meals, the presence or absence of children, pets in the family, etc.
All host families are carefully selected by the school staff and regularly undergo the necessary checks. The price includes half board (breakfast and dinner) on weekdays and full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner) on weekends. On weekdays, students can dine at the college cafeteria, which offers a wide variety of meals, including salads, snacks, and a vegetarian menu.
Homestay accommodation allows you to fully immerse yourself in an English-speaking environment, develops in students such qualities as independence, responsibility and independence, which are necessary for further study at the university.
SPORT
Students are offered a rich and interesting program of extracurricular activities. Debates, chess, figure skating, bowling, participation in the publication of a school magazine, student communities and clubs in history, photography, music, choral singing and vocals. An integral part of college life is the student committee, made up of two faculty members and six students who serve as committee president, vice president, and executive secretaries. Elections to the student committee are held twice a year, which gives almost all students the opportunity to try themselves in this role and gain a rewarding experience. At weekly committee meetings, a plan for college student activities is discussed and developed.
