Bath Academy

Age 14-17 years old.

Bath Academy was founded in 1997 and is located in Bath, one of the most picturesque cities in England with a rich history. This is a university city that, along with historical monuments and museums, offers a lot of opportunities for recreation and entertainment. Festivals, theatre and music events are held in the city all year round.

The Academy is located in the heart of Bath, a 10-minute walk from the train station. The journey to London takes 1.5 hours by train.

Training is carried out according to the traditional programs GCSE, A-level, University Foundation Program (UFP).

PROGRAM

GCSE

A two-year program for obtaining a certificate of general secondary education. Compulsory for study 6 subjects, 4 subjects are studied by choice. There is a one-year intensive course for students from 15 years old who are previously studying the GCSE program and want to improve their knowledge.

Pre-GCSE and Pre-A Level

The course prepares foreign students for the requirements of the A-level program and allows them to improve their knowledge of English, mathematics and other subjects. The course lasts 1 year and is divided into two levels:

Level 1 - for children 14-15 years old. Preparation for further study in the GCSE program. The emphasis is on learning English, mathematics and sciences.

Level 2 - for children 15-16 years old. preparation for further study in the A-level program. The emphasis is on preparing for the IELTS exam so that students receive 6.5 points and above.

A-Level

A two-year university preparatory program. Students choose 3 or 4 subjects for advanced study. The Academy offers three types of A-level courses:

Standard two-year course

18-month intensive course (beginning in January).

One-year course - for students who have already completed the program and want to retake one of the subjects, or if they need an additional subject for admission to the university.

Academy experts help students to create the optimal combination of academic subjects for admission to the chosen university.

University Foundation Program (UFP)

UK University Preparatory Program. Alternative to the A-level program. Duration of study is 1 academic year. Students choose the area of study they are interested in: business and finance, law and social sciences, engineering and technology, sciences. 6 subjects are studied in accordance with the chosen direction. 3 required and 3 optional.

International Medical Foundation Program

The program is designed specifically for foreign students planning to enrol in medical specialties at the university. Duration of study is 1 academic year. This is one of several preparatory programs recognized by British medical schools as an alternative to the A-level program. The subjects necessary for admission are studied, including students take introductory courses in specialized subjects, such as genetics and pharmacology and others.

English language

In addition to basic education, foreign students can attend English classes. Upon arrival at the school, students are tested, according to the result of which their level of English is determined. The course focuses on teaching grammar and vocabulary development and helps to successfully pass the IELTS exam.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation in a residence in one of two houses (one for boys, the other for girls). The houses are located 10 minutes’ walk from the academy. Accommodation in single and double rooms. All rooms are nicely furnished and have central heating. Cleaning and change of bed linen is done weekly.

ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITIES

Students will be able to truly enjoy their stay in Bath. The academy offers a variety of free time activities, from paintball to rock climbing to salsa - the list of activities is very varied. A program of events is drawn up every week. On weekends, once a month there are trips to other cities, such as London and Oxford.
